Global Shorts caption automation tool supporting 50+ languages
Submagic is a shorts captioning tool whose biggest strengths are stylish caption templates and word-by-word highlight effects. It supports auto-captioning in 50+ languages, and runs auto-reframing, AI B-roll insertion, and AI highlight detection (splitting a long video into multiple shorts) directly in the browser. The free plan is limited to 3 videos per month, 90 seconds max, with watermarks, and the advanced AI features sit behind plan-specific 'AI Credits' caps — so heavy users hit limits even on Pro tiers.

OpusClip is a shorts automation tool that combines AI highlight detection (ClipAnything), auto-reframing, virality score prediction, YouTube URL input, batch processing, and AI-generated B-roll. It ships with an iOS app and automatic social posting, making it a familiar fit for high-volume influencers and podcasters. The Virality Score is the headline feature, but it sits behind a steep price step — Starter and Pro plans run $15 and $29/month, and Trustpilot reviews regularly flag slow processing and credit policy frustrations as the recurring downsides.

Pros
Cons
Auto-captioning is accurate, the workflow is fast, and the finished shorts look polished and on-trend.
Submagic isn't worth it unless you commit to the higher tiers — too many features sit behind the paywall.
The app is unstable, video and audio drift out of sync mid-edit, and support takes days to reply. Hard to recommend in production.

Pros
Cons
OpusClip saves me hours of boring editing work every single week. The viral score genuinely helps me decide which clips to push first.
Solid product and the support team is responsive. There are occasional minor bugs but nothing that ruins the workflow.
One of the slowest tools in this category. Renders hang for hours and credits don't always refund when it fails. Hard to rely on with a deadline.
Simply provide a YouTube link and create viral Shorts in 3 minutes for just $0.20.
